A Safe Halloween Celebration

Halloween is traditionally a big event at Duncaster. Due to the ongoing challenges presented by Covid-19, this year’s event was smaller and slightly different than in years past, but it was still very enjoyable. On Friday October 30, Duncaster staff and residents enjoyed a safe Halloween celebration. Staff andresidents, all safely masked, wore spooky costumes and shared their Halloween spirit.
A highlight of the day was the annual pumpkin carving contest. Entries were placed on display in the meeting room. Throughout the morning and early afternoon, residents and staff safely moved through the space, and while maintaining a safe social distance, cast a vote for their favorite pumpkin. On the way out, everyone was offered a hot seasonal beverage and an apple cider donut to go. With many clever entries, this year’s pumpkin carving contest did not disappoint.
We would like to extend a BIG THANK YOU to all who carved pumpkins to be judged in this year’s contest. When the votes were tallied, this year’s winners were:
  • 1st-Katie Mongillo
  • 2nd-Jen Frombach
  • 3rd-Claudia McPherson
  • 4th-Lori Doyle
  • 5th-Joan Froscio
