Alexandra MartinAlexandra Martin-Mellor (a.k.a. Alex) was born in New York City and grew up in West Hartford. Alex graduated from Saint Joseph’s College with a BA in Sociology, and is a certified recreational therapist. Alex is employed at Duncaster as a recreation therapist and therapeutic companion. Alex has loved drawing since childhood. In her 20’s, she began drawing and painting as a creative hobby.

Then, for several years, she took courses in drawing and painting at the Farmington Valley Arts Center. She has also made and sold jewelry for the past 20 years. Some of her favorite subjects to draw and paint are her dogs and her friend’s pets. She has drawn and painted dogs, horses, and even a favorite cow! Alex loves to use color, which is a large component of her artwork. Artistic talent runs in her family. Alex’s mother was a watercolor artist, her father worked with wood and her daughter is currently pursuing a degree in art at the Savannah College of Art and Design.
