Duncaster is proud to be one of the first LifePlan Communities in Connecticut to successfully vaccinate over 99% of its residents and staff. “At Duncaster, we emphasize educating and communicating the benefits of vaccine to residents and staff. “When measured against State (67%) and National (57%) vaccination rates, Duncaster’s 99% rate is an accomplishment to be celebrated.” Said Ami Desai, Chief Operating Officer. According to AARP, the national goal is to get 75% of staff fully vaccinated in every senior living community. However, only 1 in 5 communities have been able to succeed.

In Connecticut, the story is more positive. According to CT Public, 78% of Connecticut residents have received one dose of vaccine and 70% are fully vaccinated. This week, personal finance website WalletHub.com released an update to its list of Safest States during COVID-19. Connecticut is now the safest state when it comes to COVID-19.
