Duncaster is a proud sponsor of a bear that will soon appear in the West Hartford Bear Fair. 

Benefitting the not-for-profit organization For All Ages, The colorful bear will help the organization achieve their mission of creating intergenerational programs that benefit residents across the state of Connecticut.  

Reflecting the theme, ‘Together in Harmony’, the bear was designed and painted by an intergenerational team including Duncaster residents Jackie Brown and Carol Forte, and Northwest Catholic High School students Ann Tran and Victoria Lang. Fittingly, our bear’s sneakers bear the logos of For All Ages, Duncaster, Northwest Catholic High School and West Hartford, CT. 

The artists have named the bear “Harmony,” representing our belief that social engagement is a basic human need, and that when people of all backgrounds come together in harmony, we elevate each other and our communities. 

Harmony the bear presently resides in the Duncaster Art Studio until she begins her (our artists assured me that these were the correct pronouns) journey to West Hartford to join other bears for the Bear Fair. At the Fair’s conclusion, Harmony will retire to Duncaster. Our Building and Grounds Committee is already hard at work preparing the perfect den.
